Using empathy to enhance PHSE

This workshop session took place at the ITET 2024 Annual PGCE Conference Inclusion & Inspiration - Education for Social Justice. 12 January 2024. University of Manchester. Louis outlined that a common task brought upon early year ECTs is to teach some amount of PSHE as part of their timetable. During the session he focused on how to approach PSHE education in secondary schools and how to vary your teaching style to be as inclusive and inviting as possible. Louis considered how to use empathy as a foundation for pastoral education and how his current research on this can hopefully benefit SEND students too.
