Rheological Characterisation of a Carbopol Microgel and a Commercial Body Lotion: Steady, Oscillatory, and Parallel Superposition Measurements
This dataset comprises rheological measurements of two viscoplastic materials: (i) a neutralised Carbopol microgel prepared at 2 g/L concentration (Ultrez-21, Lubrizol), and (ii) a commercial emulsion (Dove Essential Care Body Lotion, Unilever). The dataset includes raw data from steady shear rheometry, oscillatory shear tests (frequency and strain amplitude sweeps), and parallel superposition of stresses measurements.
All tests were conducted using an MCR 302 rheometer (Anton Paar) using a roughened parallel-plate geometry (PP50/P2, Anton Paar) at a controlled temperature of 25 °C.
The parallel superposition tests were performed for a stress signal sigma(t) = sigma0 + epsilon * sin(omega * t) where sigma0 is the stress offset, epsilon the amplitude of the oscillatory component and omega the frequency.
