Synchrotron micro-XRF data file containing elemental maps for calcium, phosphorus, sulphur, copper, zinc, lead and uranium distribution within a root cross section of Plantago lanceolata (ribwort plantain). The micro-XRF maps are composite images created via the compilation of multiple 2D scans and can be helpful for others to discuss the distribution of these seven elements within different root cell layers.

This file can be re-analysed, measured and coloured by other users using the DAWN software (Linux compatible). An example zinc image from this scan file will become a component of a figure within a published manuscript entitled "The value of synchrotron radiation X-ray techniques to explore microscale chemistry for ecology and evolution research".
