'Fun Palace' 1:50 Scale Tower Section model

<p dir="ltr">The tower concept for a Fun Palace brief was the initial idea for the adaptive reuse project of the Hippodrome Theatre in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. This model is a result of the complex ‘INTERFACES’ task, which involved meticulously discovering the threshold between new and existing building parts. It was crucial to represent the materiality of both parts while highlighting their differences. To achieve this, I employed two approaches in creating brick patterns: a manual technique with watercolour and a mechanical one with laser cut and stain. Additionally, I delved into the border junction, showcasing the construction layers that significantly influenced the subsequent design decisions.</p>
