What's the Story, Learning Glory: Why (and how) we need to get better at telling teaching stories at the University of Manchester

<p dir="ltr">We analysed keyword frequency in a decade of University of Manchester press releases, from 2015 to 2024. The results were a bit disappointing. Words like TEACH, LEARN and SCHOLAR are much less common than RESEARCH. We can do much better than this but how? If you've got an interesting teaching and learning story to tell, take the next steps towards publication on the SoTL staircase using one or all of these three steps:<br><br>(1) Write for the ITL blog at <a href="https://blogs.manchester.ac.uk/itl/" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">blogs.manchester.ac.uk/itl</a> and<br>(2) Speak to <a href="http://mailto:media.relations@manchester.ac.uk" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">media.relations@manchester.ac.uk</a> and<br>(3) Share your stories on social media where appropriate <a href="https://www.manchester.ac.uk/connect/social-media" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">manchester.ac.uk/connect/social-media</a><br><br>This is a poster presentation for the Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) conference held at the University of Manchester in July 2025</p>
