This workshop session took place at the ITE/ECT 2025 Annual PGCE Conference Inclusion & Inspiration - Education for Social Justice. 17 January 2025. University of Manchester. In this session, Simone addressed how to facilitate challenging conversations in participants classrooms with regards to race and ethnicity. The session centred on the role we play as teachers in the classroom. Simone explored the notion of 'positioning' ourselves and being introspective; she look at examples of tricky conversations and how to foster opportunities for pupils to feel seen in classrooms.
