While migration and queer studies are respected and well-established, their intersection deserves further research. This paper emerged from the collaborative project of ‘Queering migration and migrating queer studies: a literature review on LGBTIQ+ migration in the UK’ to discuss and address the main challenges LGBTIQ+ migrants face in the UK context from a critical (queer) perspective. This document presents the search terms used for a narrative literature review covering peer-reviewed articles between 2017 and 2023, in addition to a non-exhaustive search for policy briefs and reports from charities and NGOs.

A variety of search terms were used to generate a large pool of search results. Abstract scanning and citation analysis were used to refine search results and select sources most relevant to the topic. Boolean operators (e.g., “AND”, “OR”) were also used to filter search results. The table attached illustrates the key search terms used.
