José Gustavo Góngora-Goloubintseff is an Associate Lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of York. He obtained his PhD from the University of Manchester in 2021. His doctoral thesis, entitled "Translation in Wikipedia: A Praxeological Study of Normativity, Negotiation and Automation across Four Language Communities", was funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Góngora-Goloubintseff attained Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (SFHEA) in October 2023. His research interests include Wikipedia, volunteer translation, new technologies, multimodal discourse analysis and practice theory.
