Growth Areas Individual case study Aldersley

The YST worked with the University of Manchester to undertake research to generate a deeper understanding of a sample of schools in these areas. Five schools (two secondary schools, two primary schools and one alternative provision school) were recruited to be part of the research. Five school case study reports, and one overarching report has been produced. This document presents the profile of one of these schools.

The schools that took part in the research demonstrate the context and practice, and the challenges and opportunities for PE, school sport and physical activity (PESSPA) schools encounter when managing provision and negotiating real world realities. The case studies depict the different contextual factors that influence how schools approach providing PESSPA. While there are some common approaches and experiences, there are also bespoke needs to address for staff and pupils making each school unique with its own circumstances.
